Introducing the Second Time Around Circle

A Cozy Community for Makers, Homesteaders, and Upcyclers

There’s something special about creating things with your own two hands — whether it’s a feed bag turned into a tote, a loaf of bread from your kitchen, or a small patch of soil that grows supper for your family.

That spirit of making do and making beautiful is at the heart of Second Time Around Homestead, and it’s exactly why I’m so excited to finally introduce something new:

The Second Time Around Circle – our very own online community for creative, down-to-earth makers like you, who also have real life going on, whether it’s a day job (or three), farm animals, garden galore, or crazy family schedules. I get it. We all get it. Let’s share our ideas and thrive together (and maybe laugh at a few of the fails together, too)!

🎁 Why I Started the Circle

Over the years, I’ve met so many people who love the same things I do: crafting, gardening, cooking from scratch, and turning old or ordinary things into something wonderful. But it can be hard to find your people, especially when most “homesteading” spaces focus only on farming or food.

The Second Time Around Circle is a little different.
It’s a cozy, supportive space where we talk about all the parts of simple living like the handmade, the homemade, and the heartfelt.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • 🌾 Upcycling and reuse projects (like my famous feed bag totes!)

  • 🪡 Crafting tutorials for all skill levels

  • 🍪 From-scratch recipes and kitchen projects

  • 🌱 Homestead planning and garden prep threads

  • 💬 Real conversations with others who “get it”

Our launch theme is “Handmade for the Holidays”. We’ll be sharing easy, meaningful gift ideas made with what you already have, plus tutorials, photos, and challenges to keep you inspired all season long.

Then, after the new year, we’ll shift toward garden dreaming and homestead planning so we can all start the next growing season prepared and motivated.

🧺 What Is Skool?

The Circle lives on a platform called Skool.
Think of it as a warm, clutter-free mix of a Facebook group, classroom, and community, but without the distractions or ads.

Skool lets us share tutorials, post photos, chat with each other, and even take part in group challenges, all in one easy space. You can access it from your phone, tablet, or computer, and it’s easy!.

🎉 Launch Celebration Giveaway!

To make this launch extra fun, I’m adding a little incentive:

  • 🎁 The tenth person to join the Second Time Around Circle will receive a signed copy of my homesteading book –  a personal thank-you for helping kick things off.

  • 🎩 And everyone who joins during launch week will be entered to win an adult-sized snowman hat, handmade by me. (It’s the perfect winter gift…if you can bear to give it away!)

Winners will be announced right inside the community.

💚 Come Be Part of It

If you’ve ever wanted a space where people appreciate handmade gifts, talk about garden dreams, and cheer each other on through projects big and small – this is it.

Come pull up a virtual chair, bring your latest craft or recipe, and join us in the Second Time Around Circle.

Together, we’ll make this season truly handmade.
