Yeah, so I’m terrible at introductions whether it be at dinner, or a new classroom, or giving a presentation. Turns…
Stop the Winter Blues – Self-care in Covid
We all need to take care of ourselves (I’m terrible at self-care) and even more so this year. A global pandemic takes its toll on everyone. Add to that the standard Winter Blues, aka SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), and many of us need a little pick-me-up right now.
Release week of Sleep Robin Hood
Recently I reviewed an advanced reader copy (ARC) of Sleep Robin Hood, by M.C. Frank.
The author, MC Frank, just offered me this information to give to you for the official book release on January 20th.
Review of Orkney:: Romance, Magic and Murder on the Scottish Isles by Yaakov C Lui-Hyden
Orkney:: Romance, Magic and Murder on the Scottish Isles by Yaakov C Lui-Hyden pulls you in and won’t really release its talons until long after you have finished reading. This book is abrasive and filled with adult language and themes, but so very enjoyable.

But, I justify it by the fact that I not only read them, but I am also guiding students reading through them, so there is an awful lot of analysis of character, inference, predictions, etc.
Winter 2021 Homesteading Accountability
Homesteading is one of those things that doesn’t really lead to resolutions. It’s more about plans and dreams and the steps of how to achieve them. However, we still need to be accountable for our actions (or in-actions) and consistently re-evaluate. You may remember what we wrote in the fall here. I was in the process…
Book Review of Perception and Deception III
Perception and Deception by Andre Hintz immediately drew me in with strong character development and a strong storyline. There were little bits along that way that added bright spots of enjoyment, like the mention of Vermont (where I live and not a common setting) that aren’t imperative to the story, but little extra treats.
Book Review of Make It Right
I really enjoyed reading Make It Right by Willie Mae Jackson. The hook was excellent, and I was quickly building…
